"Outlaws" is the third track from Alessia Cara's EP, Four Pink Walls along with her debut studio album, Know-It-All. It was released on August 26, 2015 through Def Jam Recordings and Universal Music Group.
Background[]
This song came from an email written to Sebastian Kole as a journal entry. The topic stemmed from a compilation of random thoughts and feelings Cara had. One of the topics was along the lines of: "It's weird how adults perceive the younger generation as naive and spaced out delinquents." This statement sets the foundation for the entire song. It went from this statement to a love song about being "naively in love and willing to get into as much trouble as possible, if it meant being with the one you love".
