"Shapeshifter" is the fifth track and one of two lead singles, the other being “Sweet Dream”, from Alessia Cara’s third studio album In The Meantime. It was released on July 15, 2021 through Def Jam Recordings.
Background[]
The song was written in 2019 for her second EP This Summer, however, it was scrapped since she didn’t finish it time. It was later reworked for her third studio album, and was released.[1]
